Ease of Installation
Progeo Monitoring will train and certify your roofing contractor to properly install Smartex ^® components. Generally Smartex^® is installed by the roofing contactor concurrent with the installation of the roofing and waterproofing membrane. Depending on the Smartex ^® application selected, two trained installers can usually lay about 1000 ft2 per hour. Since supervision System Maintenance Service Agreements are available.

With Smartex^® the new building owner can qualify roofing and waterproofing installation before acceptance. Owners of new and existing structures can be confident that they are protected from the severe damage that can happen when leaks go undetected for long period of time.

Roofing and waterproofing systems have changed to address the new ways in which buildings are being used. With the advent of the "green roof" flat and sloped roofs now offer many possibilities for use besides simply waterproofing the building envelope. Solar panel arrays, walkways, traffic areas and plaza decks are becoming more popular and offer the advantage of being economical, ecological and visually pleasing.

These roofs new uses make it imperative that any damages to the waterproofing membrane be easily detected and quickly repaired. In addition, solar arrays and green roofs make qualifying new construction more important than ever. Finding and repairing leaks in these types of structures can be especially costly.

Smartex^®MX
Maximum Leak detection system for new construction. Permanently installed under the roofing membrane, sensor modules are connected to a computerized system that provide 24/7 monitoring while simultaneously pinpointing leak locations.

Smartex^®IS
Leak detection system for new construction. Conductive felt is permanently installed between the roofing membrane layers and connected to a portable or permanent computer monitoring terminal. Identifying the location of the leak can be accomplished using always-on computer supplied by Progeo Monitoring, or on-demand using Smartex^®LP or VM.

Smartex^®VM
Leak detection system for new and existing construction. Optional conductive felt can be permanently installed under the membrane and connected to a portable signal generator for regular or on-demand monitoring. In existing construction Smartex^®VM can be hooked up to the building itself to conduct the signal for testing the roofing membrane.

Smartex^®LP
Leak detection system for new or existing construction. An electric current applied to the membrane can penetrate anywhere there is a defect or leak. Any current coming through the membrane completes the circuit, signaling a defect. Smartex^®LP is used to test flat, sloped or vertical surfaces.
